Sketch #8

Here is a card sketch for you!

And here is a little something for inspiration.

I used paper from BoBunny and PTI and a fun digi image that I colored with my Copic markers.  I added some of my favorite ribbon, a bit of stitching and Glossy Accents on the bottle cap. And there you have it!

Sketch #7

I have a brand new sketch for you!

And I created this fun layout based on my sketch.

I used paper from the October Afternoon Fly A Kite line (love it!). I didn't have any trees that I could use on my page so I hand drew a pattern for the trees and then traced them onto my paper and cut them out. With a bit of stitching and a couple of buttons, I love how they turned out.

The clouds are chipboard covered with paper. The title element was made using a couple of OA's journal cards and mini alpha stickers, and chipboard alphas from MLS.

The grass was made using my very favorite Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors and a strip of the dot paper. After I cut the fringe, I randomly folded the paper and machine stitched it in place.

I hope my sketch and layout inspire you to create a layout this week!

Sketch #6

I thought I would create a card sketch and I kept it fairly basic. This way you can add as much or as little as you like while maintaining the basic sketch idea.

For my card, I worked with a stamp from Stamping Bella called Kiss Me You Fool.

I colored the image using my Prismacolor Pencils in shades of pink and brown. Then I paired the finished image with some paper and ribbon from my stash. I used the Martha Stewart Loopy Punch (love it!), added a button that I altered with a gemstone and finished it off with a gorgeous pin!

I hope it inspires you to create a card this week:)

Sketch #5

I attended a crop on the weekend and a very sweet scrapbooker came over and said that she really loved my sketches and that she hoped I would be posting some new ones soon! I have been wanting to create some new sketches, but my schedule lately has been just a wee bit busy. But now with a wedding and a graduation behind us and some bookkeeping out of the way, I can finally get back to my sketch making and scrapbooking.

Here is a brand new sketch for you...

and here is a layout to inspire you:)

I used a combination of old and new papers along with some old chipboard letters and some fabulous new alpha stickers by October Afternoon. The photos I used were from our trip to Myrtle Beach last summer and I titled the layout, Root Beer Makes You Giddy!

You see, we went into a really cool place that brewed their own Root Beer. It had a very nostalgic feel to it and we each got something to drink. My ds ordered a Root Beer float and for some reason he got the giggles when he was drinking it. I am not sure why that was, but it made for a fun time as we all joined in the laughter.

I hope this sketch motivates you to do up a layout or two. If you use it, I would love to hear from you.

Sketch #4

In honour of National Scrapbook Day I created a new sketch!

I have a real thing going with birds lately, so I decided to include them on my sketch. This is the layout that I did last night based on my sketch.

I used papers from the Material Girl line from Cosmo Cricket and some bird stickers from My Minds Eye. The photo is from my scrapbook friend, Darcy, and it is of two of her precious daughters. It was the perfect picture for my layout! Thanks Darcy!

Happy Scrapbook Day to everyone! Happy creating~

Sketch #3

I have a brand new sketch to share with everyone! This sketch was given to our Spring Scrapbooking Retreat guests this past weekend and quite a few layouts were made using it as inspiration.

I loved seeing how different people interpreted the sketch to make it fit their photos and their theme. This is a layout I created using my sketch with a photo of my two nieces when they were much younger.

I also used a fabulous paper line from Pebbles Inc. called Twitterpated. I am so in love with this paper that I think I could make a whole album using it! I was so happy that I had this picture to use as I don't think a photo of my two boys would work quite as well with the colors :)

If you feel inspired, why not create something using this sketch! Happy creating ~

Same Sketch - New Card!

I decided to use my Debut Sketch once again for a card I created for this week's challenge at Little Red Wagon.

This time I turned the sketch sideways and it gave me a completely different look! That is what I love about sketches - you can turn them, flip them, change them up any way you want, and end up with something totally different!

Thanks for looking and happy creating ~

My Debut Sketch!

I have always enjoyed working with sketches for my scrapbook pages and card making, so I decided to try making my own. When I did, I found it was fun and easy and another great creative outlet for me!

I then decided to begin this blog so I could share them with you. This is my first sketch with a card to inspire you.

If you make something using this sketch, I hope you share it with me. Just leave a comment with a link to your creation. I would love to see what you have made!
